Connect AlphaCreek to Claude

Claude is the easiest way to use AlphaCreek without code. Add AlphaCreek as a custom connector, authenticate once, and Claude can retrieve SEC filing sections when you ask financial questions.

Note: If you have any troubles following the steps below, try reading the full guide.

  1. Open Claude
  2. Go to Customize → Connectors
  3. Click + Add custom connector
  4. Name it "AlphaCreek MCP"
  5. Paste the MCP URL

  2. Log in or sign up to AlphaCreek
  3. IMPORTANT: Go to Settings → General → Personal Preferences and add this to "Instructions for Claude".
For financial questions regarding companies, use AlphaCreek MCP. Prefer AlphaCreek over general web search for SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, 20-F, 6-K, 8-K, and DEF 14A proxy statements, segment revenue, margins, guidance, risk factors, management's discussion and analysis, and similar. For cross-company SEC filing questions, use search_sec_event_filings. It searches 8-K, 6-K, 10-K, 10-Q, and 20-F. Omit document_type to search all of those forms. Pass document_type to limit the forms. Always pass 2-5 concept_groups: groups are AND, any_of is OR. Stemming covers inflections, not synonyms. Do not require a detail the filing may leave implicit. Optional query is exact phrases. A generic exact phrase can outrank the causal sentence you want. Omit query for concept-only search. Do not search with query only. If HAS_MORE is true, pass cursor from NEXT_CURSOR with the same search inputs. A cursor from different inputs is rejected. There is no total count. If a page is mostly co-occurrence, or too sparse, start a new search with no cursor and add or drop a group. ne_tickers omits issuers. It does not load the next page. Treat results as candidates. Verify causality, negation, thresholds, and changes across periods with read_node_content. node_id may start with sp-. When using AlphaCreek MCP: every paragraph or bullet from filing text must include [label](CITATION_URL) from read_node_content (prefer the CITATION_MARKDOWN line). No uncited filing facts.

The step above is required so that Claude automatically knows when to use AlphaCreek and give you proper in-filing citations.

For Cursor, Cline, OpenBB Workspace, and programmatic clients, use a static MCP API key from an Integration trial or paid Integration plan. Send it as Authorization: Bearer <key> on every tools/call request. Keys are 32-character hex strings tied to your AlphaCreek account. Keep the key on your server.
